सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बुधवार को वोडाफोन आइडिया (Vodafone Idea) को आंशिक राहत देते हुए टैक्स डिपार्टमेंट से कहा कि वह कंपनी को 2014-15 के लिये 733 करोड़ रुपए वापस करे. वोडाफोन को यह रिफंड 4 सप्ताह के अंदर भुगतान करना है.

US deaths from the novel coronavirus topped 75,000 deaths on Thursday, after the White House shelved a step-by-step guide prepared by health officials to help states safely reopen. Deaths in the United States, the epicenter of the global pandemic, have averaged 2,000 a day since mid-April despite efforts to slow the outbreak.

Since reporting its first cases in mid-February, the Islamic republic has struggled to contain the spread of the virus that causes the Covid-19 disease. Health ministry spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said 55 new virus fatalities in the past 24 hours took the overall death toll in the health crisis to 6,541.

An estimated 190,000 people in Africa could die of Covid-19 in the first year of the pandemic and the disease could “smolder” across the continent for years, the World Health Organisation has warned.
