Section 1983 dispute involving the standing of a tax exempt claimant to intervene in a challenge to an unrelated action on the constitutionality of claimed exemptions, IRC sections 107 and 265(a)(6), judgment of the district court denying intervention is affirmed in part and vacated in part because motion to intervene as a matter of right is thwarted by the presumption of adequate representation, where the district court erred in apply an incorrect rule on the issue of permissive intervention.

(California Court of Appeal) - In an action alleging that a church, doing business as a camp, fraudulently concealed information from parents about a camp employee's suspected molestation of their minor daughter at its summer camp, the petition for writ of mandamus is granted because under the facts of this case disclosure of suspected molestation by a camp employee was within the scope of the camp's duty to minor and her parents.

(United States Ninth Circuit) - In the appeal of a breach of contract and copyright infringement case involving the movie 'The Purge,' the district court's denial of defendant's anti-SLAPP motion to strike a state law claim for breach of implied-in-fact contract, is affirmed where the breach of contract claim did not arise from an act in furtherance of the right of free speech since the claim was based on defendants' failure to pay for the plaintiff's idea, not the creation, production, distribution, or content of the films.

(United States Fifth Circuit) - In an amended opinion, held that Louisiana statutes requiring certain erotic dancers at nightclubs to be 21 years of age or older was not unconstitutionally overbroad or vague. Vacated a preliminary injunction barring enforcement of the statutes.

The companies insisted that they did not violate the Lanham Act by producing greeting cards that contained phrases similar to one trademarked by a comedy writer who had posted a popular YouTube video known for its catchphrase Honey Badger Don't Care. However, the Ninth Circuit found genuine issues of material fact, and thus reversed and remanded for further proceedings on the comedy writer's claims.

(United States Supreme Court) - Clarified when the statute of limitations begins to run on a fabricated-evidence claim. Held that the clock started when the criminal proceedings terminated in the defendant's favor -- that is, when he was acquitted at the end of his second trial. Justice Sotomayor delivered the opinion of the 6-3 Court.

(United States Seventh Circuit) - Held that an Iranian national may not appeal the revocation of his petition for conditional permanent residency. He had applied under the EB-5 admission category, which offers visas for immigrants who invest in new job-creating enterprises. Affirmed the ruling below, which concluded that Congress has stripped the courts of jurisdiction to review discretionary revocations of visa petitions.

I got to MIDDLE by myself, but now I'm fucking stuck and I have decided (because of Linear Algebra) that I fucking hate all math for all time and hate life and the universe because I hate math so much and I am angry that I suck so bad at math and that there is so much terminology and minutia, all of which leading to absolutely nothing. It infuriates me. Thus the Rubiks also infuriates me. I am going to quit computer programming because of this. I am too old for this shit. Maybe I should leave my wife too, and run away from home. This whole life is getting me really down right now.
