I just heard from Russell Bates of Lawton on LinkedIn. I know him from my Wilson Center dorm days at OU in the early 1970s. He was then already a published writer, and later won an Emmy for a Star Trek animated series episode he co-wrote. I found a profile of Russell on a 2011 episode of OETA's "Gallery" series. Joe Winett reports that Dave McFadden, creator of "The Time Channel" spoof, passed away on Friday. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Dave was also part of "Make Me Smile", a comedy show taped in the basement of the Tulsa Library.

Sorry to be late in reporting the passing of Gary Elliott. He was a long-time audio engineer at KTUL as well as a singer/songwriter. I worked with him and his wife Emily on the RSUTV/UHF Weird Al locations tour last year. Rest in peace, Gary.
