Natural materials make up this energy-saving Jakarta home

Architecture firm Atelier Riri has reaped the energy-saving benefits of Indonesia’s tropical climate in their design of the House at Serpong, a climate-responsive suburban house in Jakarta. Hitch is a reusable water bottle and coffee cup in one

Coffee is a popular start to the day for millions of people. There’s nothing quite like the scent of coffee wafting through the air and that first sip to get you started on the right foot. But an estimated 3 billion paper cups end up in the landfills each year — cups that mostly can’t be recycled due to the mixed materials, including plastic. The solution, of course, is reusable coffee cups; however, many people have struggled to incorporate that addition into the host of other items that travel with them daily. So Remaker Labs, a Santa Barbara-based company, has[...]

This Japanese Newspaper Has A Secret Message

What seems to be just a page full of bubbles turns out to be a heartwarming message when viewed from a distance. This newspaper from Gifu Shimbun was issued on May 6.

Utilizing a form of bubbly negative space to render the text, the newspaper spelled out a message to its readers about social distancing. The magic is you have to maintain an appropriate social distance to read the letters.
The message reads, 離れていても 心はひとつ, which means even though we’re apart, our hearts are one.

Thanks, Japan!

Episode 536 - Raul Sanllehi has trousers

Arsenal have smashed their transfer record for the third time in two years, bringing in Nicolas Pepe from Lille. It's a signing that seemed impossible just a week ago, but here he is. Joining me to talk about Pepe the player is Matt Spiro, and we discuss his arrival, the kind of player he is, and more, as well as William Saliba, Laurent Koscielny and Matteo Guendouzi. Then I'm joined by Clive Palmer to delve into the Pepe deal, what it says about us as a club, the message it sends, the impact he'll have on the squad and the way we plays, and loads more besides, including a defensive discussion.

Episode 544 - Boom-Saka-Laka

On this week's show I'm joined by Andrew Allen to break down the 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. We start with the positives. Joe Willock shows his talent once again; Bukayo Saka announces himself with a sensational performance; and Emi Martinez impresses in goal. The Europa League needs to be a showcase for this young talent. Then we discuss the fact we allowed 24 attempts on goal, wonder how Unai Emery is going to make this team more defensively stable, and look ahead to the Villa game at the weekend. All that and a little bit of waffle.
