Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) is Chairman of the Department for External Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, a permanent member of the Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches, and a Member of the Central and Executive Committees of the World Council of Churches.
