Hey Folks,

This week will be highlighted by a few different things... here are a few points.

-Temperatures will warm up this week... and stay warm(ish). At or above seasonal temperatures will be on the menu for everyone.
-A system marching in from the Southwest today will draw this warm air in... but will also spread Clouds and Showers into Newfoundland for Tuesday and has already spread Snow into Labrador today and into tonight.
-The West Coast of Newfoundland and even into Central could see some Freezing Rain early tomorrow before the Southerly flow warms temps to 5 or 6 degrees.

***4PM UPDATE- Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Warning for Corner Brook, Deer Lake-Humber Valley and Green Bay-White Bay. Model showing a solid period of F.R. starting overnight and continuing throughout the early morning hours. The drive to work could be very icy for you folks in those areas.
-Although Warnings haven't been issued... I think Gros Morne, Parson's Pond-Hawke's Bay could see some Freezing Rain overnight and early tomorrow as well. Bay of Exploits, GFW and Gander could see some Freezing Rain tomorrow morning as well.

-Looks like the Avalon will stay dry on Tuesday as the High pressure moving off to the East will be still be strong enough to keep the Rain away.

LONG RANGE
-Another System will move in on Wednesday and into Thursday. It looks like it too, will have a strong Southerly flow with it, keeping the Precip as mostly Rain for Newfoundland.
-Having said that, the potential will be there again for Freezing Rain and Ice Pellets in the morning and overnight time periods.
-Labrador looks like Snow to start on Wednesday... but the warm air could push in for you folks as well... with a change over to Rain or at least a mix of both for Thursday and into Friday.

EVEN LONGER RANGE
-The models... specifically the GFS... are flirting with a set-up for the weekend... which would bring a very strong push of warm air into the Province just in time for Easter. The set-up... which is still a question mark... would see an area of High pressure anchored to the Southeast with a Low over Northern Quebec and Labrador. If things work out that way... we could see double digit temps creeping into parts of Newfoundland this weekend.

-It would be nice setup for the holiday weekend... let's keep our fingers crossed for now and I'll keep you posted.

Turning SAP on and off is done on most television sets through a menu using the remote control. Every television set is different, so the best way to do that is to follow the instructions in your owner's manual.

KPN heeft een volgende stap gezet op weg naar haar doelstelling om 80 procent van Nederland in 2026 te voorzien van een glasvezelaansluiting van het bedrijf. Met de overname van het glasvezelnetwerk van Primevest Capital Partners voegt KPN ruim 127.000 glasvezelaansluitingen aan haar netwerk toe.

KPN heeft bekendgemaakt dat het de Nederlandse activiteiten van Youfone zal overnemen. Youfone is momenteel al actief op de netwerken van KPN. Meer dan 540.000 klanten van Youfone maken momenteel gebruik van het mobiele en vaste netwerk van KPN, hier verandert niets aan.

Kabelaar Ziggo verhoogt per oktober opnieuw de snelheid van al haar abonnementen. Opvallend is dat het Basic instapabonnement een snelheid krijgt van 100 Mb, een snelheid die voor veel huishoudens al ruim voldoende is. Ook de Internet Start en Start XXL abonnementen worden in snelheid verdubbeld.

Per vandaag herintroduceert KPN 'dubbele data' voor Combivoordeel klanten die internet voor thuis combineren met mobiel. Bovenop de bestaande voordelen betekent dat twee keer zoveel gigabytes om onderweg te videobellen of je favoriete series te kijken.

In een tijd waarin duurzaamheid en milieuvriendelijkheid steeds belangrijker worden, worden technologische oplossingen onderzocht om een groenere toekomst te bevorderen. Een van deze oplossingen is glasvezelinternet, dat niet alleen zorgt voor een sneller en betrouwbaarder internet, maar ook aanzienlijke voordelen biedt op het gebied van duurzaamheid en milieuvriendelijkheid.

Op zondagavond is in Nederland een recordhoeveelheid aan internetgebruik gemeten. De Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) geeft aan een ongekende 12 terabit aan data per seconde verwerkt te hebben om 19:30 uur.

Odido steekt boven alle Nederlandse providers uit in de recente benchmarktest van vaste internetdiensten, uitgevoerd door Umlaut. Hoewel KPN het beste scoort op het gebied van mobiele netwerken, is het Odido dat de kroon spant op het vlak van vast internet.

KPN en Ziggo zijn toegetreden tot branchevereniging NLconnect. Met de nieuwe leden zijn alle grotere telecomaanbieders van ons land bij NLconnect aangesloten: Odido en DELTA Fiber waren al bij de vereniging aangesloten, evenals 85 andere bedrijven uit de gehele telecom- en breedbandketen, waaronder Breedbandwinkel.

In navolging van onder andere Ziggo en Online maakt vandaag ook KPN de prijsverhogingen bekend die per 1 juli 2024 gaan gelden. Prijsvergelijker Breedbandwinkel meldt dat de prijsverhoging neerkomt op maximaal 2,00 euro per maand voor internet, afhankelijk van het abonnement. Er wordt gerekend met een inflatiecorrectie van 3,8%.
