Methods for controlled microstructure creation utilize seeding of amorphous layers prior to annealing. Seed crystals are formed on an amorphous layer or layers. The material, size, and spacing of the seed crystals may be varied, and multiple seed layers and/or amorphous layers may be utilized. Thereafter, the resulting assembly is annealed to generate a crystalline microstructure. Via use of these methods, devices having desirable microstructural properties are enabled.

The disclosure relates to microwave cavity plasma reactor (MCPR) apparatus and associated tuning and process control methods that enable the microwave plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition (MPACVD) of a component such as diamond. Related methods enable the control of the microwave discharge position, size and shape, and enable efficient matching of the incident microwave power into the reactor prior to and during component deposition. Pre-deposition tuning processes provide a well matched reactor exhibiting a high plasma reactor coupling efficiency over a wide range of operating conditions, thus allowing operational input parameters to be modified during deposition while simultaneously maintaining the reactor in a well-matched state. Additional processes are directed to realtime process control during deposition, in particular based on identified independent process variables which can effectively control desired dependent process variables during deposition while still maintaining a well-matched power coupling reactor state.

A light emitting diode (LED) module for a light fixture includes a substrate with an upper surface and a lower surface. Various pressure multiplying pads are integrally connected to the lower surface, and each pressure multiplying pad extends away from the lower surface. LEDs are attached to the upper surface, along with a set of conductive lines so that each conductive line electrically connects a corresponding LED to a power inputs. Each of the pressure multiplying pads may be positioned opposite a corresponding LED. A flexible lens cover may cover the upper surface and the LEDs, while leaving the lower surface and pressure multiplying pads exposed so that the pads can contact a heat sink of the light fixture.

A modular lighting assembly uses LED banks as the light sources. The assembly allows the power supply and LED banks to be independently replaced. The assembly uses a power supply that is separated from the LED banks and electrically connected to the LED banks with a plug connector that may be unplugged and plugged back in to allow the power supply or LED bank to be independently and readily replaced. The assembly provides for easy replacement of the different components of the assembly. One feature that makes the components easier to replace is that the light modules and/or the power supply may be carried by the housing that is removable from the base mount that is secured to a mounting structure such as a wall or ceiling.

A light fixture includes one or more of light emitting diode (LED) modules. Each of the LED modules may include a substrate holding a plurality of LEDs, and a printed circuit board connected to the plurality of LEDs. Each of the LED modules may also include a flexible lens cover including a plurality of lenses, each positioned to be located over one of the LEDs. The flexible lens cover may include a side sealing structure configured to interface with the substrate and seal the lens cover to the substrate.

When a person uses a computer, the graphic display of the computer screen causes a user's eye blink rate to be reduced by an average of sixty-six percent. This reduction in blinking can cause a variety of eye ailments, such as eye strain that results from lack of adequate blinking. This system is a light display system for compelling a computer user to blink their eyes. In one embodiment, the system includes a computer screen, a light source associated with a controller configured to execute a program to activate and deactivate the light source, wherein the light source turns the light on and off when the light source is activated, and deactivated. The systems and methods provide advantages in that a computer user will involuntarily blink as the light source is activated, which will increase the overall blink rate of the computer user's eyes, and reduce eyestrain therefrom.

An apparatus and method for assembling a display device to which is coupled a light guide that has smooth surfaces for light-transmission and at least one surface that is for light scattering and internal reflection. The method includes depositing a reflective coating on that surface, and installing the display device with coupled light guide in an interior of a meter housing or casing. A portion of the casing interior is filled with a component, such as epoxy, for sealing the case interior to protect the display device and light guide against water and dust penetration. All surfaces of the light guide are protected from direct contact with the epoxy. This approach greatly simplifies the assembly process and yields a robust display that also prevents light leakage from the light guide.

An electronic display assembly having forced-air cooling. A thermally conductive plate or a thermally conductive backlight surface is located behind an electronic display of the electronic display assembly and within a housing thereof such that a gap is formed between the plate or backlight surface and an adjacent wall of the housing. External cooling air may be caused to flow in a top-to-bottom direction through the gap in order to remove heat from the electronic display that has been conductively transferred to the gap. One embodiment relates to an apparatus, comprising logic, at least partially incorporated into hardware, to receive a plurality of notifications from each of a plurality of notification sources, determine a ranking score for each notification relative to any other notification received from the same notification source, and determine a notification class for each ranked notification relative to the ranked notifications from all notification sources based upon at least one blending attribute and at least one user contextual state.

The system includes a fuzzy knowledge module configured to receive the processed search query, generate a set of candidate tags for selected ones of the words in the search query, and selectively validate the candidate tags. In one embodiment, a method receives a query for data in a database system and calls a plurality of engines to analyze information for the query. A calculation graph is generated from at least a portion of the plurality of engines where each of the at least a portion of the plurality of engines add a node to the calculation graph based on analyzing of the information for the query. Then, the method executes the query by calling the nodes of the calculation graph. Each node uses metadata added to the node from a respective calculation engine to perform a calculation for the node. Then, a result of the query is output based on the respective calculations performed by the nodes.

Systems and methods for consistent data generation across an enterprise involves explosion of seed data received in at least one of two or more databases present across the enterprise based on an identified reference data field in the received seed data and a pre-defined pattern. A lightweight map of key-value pairs is created wherein the key is data in the reference data field of at least one data record and the value is a pointer to a transformed value of either the data in the reference data field or at least one data field other than the reference data field, the transformed value being based on the pre-defined pattern. Based on the exploded seed data, the map is continually appended for further data explosion such that consistent data is generated across the enterprise.

By utilizing the above Chinese website classification method and system, the noise interference can be alleviated to the greatest extent by only extracting a title and meta-information of the website; by means of pre-processing and characteristic vector expression, the characteristics of the website are accurately expressed with the vector, so that the accuracy of classification is increased; and since only the title and meta-information of the website need to be processed, the quantity of data to be processed is small, and the processing speed is high.

A system for and a method of processing a prefix associated with a search query. The method comprises receiving a user input defining a prefix and identifying a list of suggested search queries associated with the prefix. The method determines that (i) a first suggested search query is associated with a first resource and (ii) a first cumulative resource weight based on a first relation between the first suggested search query and the first resource is no less than a second cumulative resource weight based on a second relation between a second suggested search query and a second resource. A content management system aggregates and provides users' interaction with a content item for display in an activity feed. A self-monitoring time series database system which enforces usage policies is described. A time series database system receives an alert trigger condition for a system user, wherein the system user is associated with multiple time series data points corresponding to multiple subsystems of the time series database system. The time series database system aggregates the multiple time series data points in an internal time series data point, which is internal to the time series database system, associated with the system user. The time series database system evaluates whether the internal time series data point associated with the system user meets the alert trigger condition. The time series database system reduces a level of access by the system user to the time series database system in response to an evaluation that the internal time series data point associated with the system user meets the alert trigger condition.

A distribution server comprising a processor and a database may receive data configured to modify at least one interface of at least one client device and distribution data. The distribution server may store the data in the database. The distribution server may determine each at least one client device to which the data is to be delivered based on the distribution data. Networking systems and methods for establishing and maintaining virtual computing clouds are disclosed. A networking system can comprise a server and various instances of a software agent, each agent being installed on a computing device participating in a virtual computing cloud. The server can maintain account setting for a user, wherein the settings can indicate which files on indicated computing devices are included in the virtual computing cloud. The networking system can selectively synchronize data between the computing devices automatically and in a secure manner, and can transmit data in real time to simulate local storage when synchronization of certain files is inappropriate in light of file incompatibility. As a result, the networking system can provide the user with a seamless, automatic system and method for accessing a total computing environment.
