A method for producing a silica-supported catalyst comprising Mo, V. Nb, and a component X (Sb and/or Te) to be used in a vapor phase catalytic oxidation or ammoxidation of proprane, comprising the steps of: (I) preparing a raw material mixture solution by mixing Mo, V, Nb, component X, a silica sol, and water;(II) obtaining a dry powder by drying the raw material mixture solution; and(III) obtaining a silica-supported catalyst by calcining the dry powder, wherein the silica sol contains 10 to 270 wt ppm of nitrate ions based on SiO2.

The ability of these compounds to release active halogen ions has been utilized in a range of biocidal and fungicidal applications. A portable communication device for phone calling is herein disclosed and enabled. The portable communication device includes a USB interface for connecting to an external USB port of a computing device for enabling phone calling services using the portable communication device. Upon connecting the portable communication device to the external USB port of the computing device, a phone calling software component or data stored in the portable communication device may execute for enabling phone calling services. The portable communication device may also include one or more ports, and may include an interface for Ethernet connection for connecting to the Internet and for making phone calls without the need for connecting the portable communication device to the external USB port. The portable communication device may further include a Wi-Fi wireless component for local wireless communication, and may be implemented as an adapter-sized dongle for providing phone calling services.

An approach is disclosed that facilitates context delivery during communication sessions. The approach may be implemented in a computer infrastructure having computer executable code tangibly embodied on a computer readable storage medium having programming instructions operable to: render at least one service to a user device through a communication session; collect information of the communication session; and send the information of the communication session to a service provider when a call is setup between the user device and the service provider. The systems and methods include a processor that is operable to receive data from a second device on the network; a memory medium; and a data configurator operable to dynamically reconfigure the data from the second device, with the data from the second device being in the form of a network item defined by the second device. The data configurator is operable to pass the reconfigured data to the processor and/or the memory medium in the form of a device item that is native to the device. A data design tool generates a map configuration to define a unique relationship between the network item and the device item. The map configuration includes a network representation portion for data in the network item and a device representation portion for data in the data item.

A system and method can support user account management in a computing environment. The computing environment can include a video encoding pool to support load balancing and a managing server, such as a privileged account manager server. The video encoding pool includes a set of nodes that are able to perform one or more video processing tasks for another node. Furthermore, the managing server can receive a request from a managed node in the computing environment for delegating a video processing task, and can select one or more nodes from the video encoding pool to load babalance and to perform the video processing task.

An apparatus and method control a connection between peripheral devices in a control server of a wireless communication system providing an IP-based communication service. The method for controlling the connection between peripheral devices includes registering at least one device in a group list classified by user identification information. The method also includes, if a control node including a user identifier of the group list requests a control of any one device included in the group list, checking an IP address of the device that is requested to be controlled by the control node. The method further includes sending a control command of the control node using the IP address.

The case (1) of the watch carries, along its periphery (5), hooking members in the form of rings (6a, 6a', 6b, 6b', 6c, 6c'), these rings being disposed radially relative to the center (7) of the dial (2) and hence of the watch. An equatorial sundial apparatus with an adjustable base assembly utilizing one or more concave cylindrical focusing mirrors. One of the benefits that is derived from this apparatus is the use of one or more concave cylindrical mirrors to project a focused beam of light onto a calibrated surface from which the time can be read. This sundial has the additional benefit of not suffering from blurring of the time indicator in a shadow or non-focused beam of light typical of other sundials. This sundial's focused light forms a sharply demarcated indicator from which time can be read to the minute. A further benefit of this apparatus is the ability to incorporate multiple concave cylindrical focusing mirrors to reduce the size of the visual field or screen where the time is read and to incorporate various shapes and designs for ornamental purposes without significant compromise of the sundials accuracy for telling time. An additional benefit of this apparatus is the ability to quickly, accurately and easily adjust the apparatus to the proper tilt upon setup according to the latitude where it will be located by means of an adjustable base assembly.

Systems, processors, and methods for keeping uncacheable data coherent. A processor includes a multi-level cache hierarchy, and uncacheable load memory operations can be cached at any level of the cache hierarchy. If an uncacheable load misses in the L2 cache, then allocation of the uncacheable load will be restricted to a subset of the ways of the L2 cache. If an uncacheable store memory operation hits in the L1 cache, then the hit cache line can be updated with the data from the memory operation. If the uncacheable store misses in the L1 cache, then the uncacheable store is sent to a core interface unit. Multiple contiguous store misses are merged into larger blocks of data in the core interface unit before being sent to the L2 cache.

A dispersed storage (DS) unit for use within a dispersed storage network is capable of self-configuring using registry information provided to the DS unit. The registry information includes a slice name assignment indicating a range of slice names corresponding to a plurality of potential data slices of potential data objects to be stored in the DS unit. Based on the registry information, the DS unit allocates a portion of physical memory to store the potential data slices.

The invention pertains to a memory management unit for a microprocessor system, the memory management unit being connected or connectable to at least one processor core of the microprocessor system and being connected or connectable to a physical memory of the microprocessor system. The memory management unit is adapted to selectively operate in a hypervisor mode or in a supervisor mode, the hypervisor mode and the supervisor mode having different privilege levels of access to hardware The memory management unit comprises a first register table indicating physical address information for mapping at least one logical physical address and at least one actual physical address onto each other; a second register table indicating an allowed address range of physical addresses accessible to a process running in or under supervisor mode; wherein the memory management unit is adapted to prevent write access to the second register table by a process not in hypervisor mode. The memory management unit is further adapted to allow write access to the first register table of a process running in or under supervisor mode to reconfigure the physical address information indicated in the first register table with memory mapping information relating to at least one physical address, if the at least one physical address is in the allowed address range, and to prevent write access to the first register table of the process running in or under supervisor mode if the at least one physical address is not in the allowed address range. The invention also pertains to a microprocessor system and a method for managing memory.

A process for preparing a pure alanylglutamine comprises the steps of: 1) reacting N-(α-chloro)-propionyl-glutamine and hydrazine compound to obtain an alanylglutamine crude product; 2) mixing anhydrous methanol and the alanylglutamine crude product to provide a filter cake; 3) dissolving the filter cake in water, heating, adding ethanol, and cooling to yield the pure alanylglutamine.

A method of preparing the anthracyclin carminomycin using a starting material comprising daunorubicin. The method comprises reacting daunorubicin or N-protected daunorubicin with soft Lewis acids for the demethylation of the 4-methoxy group, resulting in a reaction mass. The reaction mass is treated with an aqueous solution of a strong organic acid or a mineral acid. After decomposition of the resulting carminomycin and Lewis acids reactive complex, the reaction mass is extracted using a water insoluble organic solvent. As a result, carminomycin is extracted as a base.

A data communications method, including a) enabling a transmission of a wake signal from a host to a remote client through an isolator disposed at the remote client when the wake signal is asserted from the host at a host-portion of the isolator concurrent with a periodic enablement of a client-portion of the isolator by the remote client; and thereafter b) transmitting the wake signal from the host to the remote client through the isolator; c) controlling enablement of the client-portion responsive to the wake signal transmitted through the isolator; and thereafter d) disabling the transmission by deassertion of the wake signal at the host.

We report methods, integrated circuit devices, and fabrication processes relating to power management transitions of multiple compute units sharing a cache. One method includes indicating that a first compute unit of a plurality of compute units of an integrated circuit device is attempting to enter a low power state, determining if the first compute unit is the only compute unit of the plurality in a normal power state, and in response to determining the first compute unit is the only compute unit in the normal power state: saving a state of a shared cache unit of the integrated circuit device, flushing at least a portion of a cache of the shared cache unit, repeating the flushing until either a second compute unit exits the low power state or the cache is completely flushed, and permitting the first compute unit to enter the low power state.

An image forming apparatus is connected to a host device including first and second power domains which are separately supplied with power and includes first and second memories to be disposed in the second power domain, a main controller disposed in the first power domain and to perform a control operation using the first memory in a normal mode, and a sub-controller disposed in the second power domain and perform a control operation using the second memory in a power-saving mode, where when the normal mode is changed to the power-saving mode a power supply to the first power domain is shut off, the first memory operates in a self-refresh mode, and the main controller copies central processing unit (CPU) context information into a context storage unit, and when the power-saving mode is changed to the normal mode, the main controller is booted using the CPU context information stored in the context storage unit.

Techniques for implementing identification and management of unsafe optimizations are disclosed. A method of the disclosure includes receiving, by a managed runtime environment (MRE) executed by a processing device, a notice of misprediction of optimized code, the misprediction occurring during a runtime of the optimized code, determining, by the MRE, whether a local misprediction counter (LMC) associated with a code region of the optimized code causing the misprediction exceeds a local misprediction threshold (LMT) value, and when the LMC exceeds the LMT value, compiling, by the MRE, native code of the optimized code to generate a new version of the optimized code, wherein the code region in the new version of the optimized code is not optimized.

A method of accessing a communication system and a communication device for performing the same are disclosed. The present invention generally relates to processes and methods of peptide and protein synthesis. The present invention also relates to specific compounds for use in such processes and methods. It is shown herein that peptides with a C-terminal tertiary N,N-bis(2-mercaptoethyl)-amide (BMEA) undergo N-to-S acyl transfer at weakly acidic pH to form a transient thioester which can be captured for direct ligation with a cysteinyl peptide. These C-terminal BMEA peptides are easily prepared with standard Fmoc solid-phase synthesis protocols, thus giving a very convenient access to the thioester components for native chemical ligation.
