Cisco e IBM Security anunciaron hoy una magna colaboración para abordar la creciente amenaza global de la delincuencia cibernética. Mediante un nuevo acuerdo, las compañías trabajarán juntas de forma más abierta en productos, servicios e inteligencia de amenazas.

IBM Security anunció los resultados de un estudio global que explora los factores y desafíos de ser una organización ciberresiliente. El estudio encontró que el 77% de los encuestados admiten no tener un plan formal de respuesta a incidentes de seguridad cibernética (CSIRP) aplicado sistemáticamente en toda su organización. Casi la mitad de los encuestados informaron que su plan de respuesta a incidentes es informal o completamente inexistente.

IBM Security anunció hoy los resultados de su informe 2018 IBM X-Force Threat Intelligence Index, en donde se muestra que la cantidad de registros infringidos cayó casi un 25% en 2017 a medida que los cibercriminales cambiaron el enfoque en el lanzamiento de ransomware y ataques destructivos que buscaban retener o destruir información a menos que la víctima pagara algún rescate.

Durante la conferencia mundial VMworld® 2016, VMware e IBM anunciaron la disponibilidad de los primeros servicios de nube para industrias que permiten a las organizaciones mover rápida y fácilmente, archivos a la nube. I desire to get back in the habit of posting regularly here, so I will post every day in September and see if that helps. This blog (if you count its beginning on my 35th birthday, just after 9/11, as a LiveJournal) is the oldest internet "belonging" I have, except for my email address. I don't want to lose it through neglect.

Today, I will report that in August, I paid off 1.20% of our consumer debt, and I expect that to snowball as we pay off the higher-interest stuff. I will report in once a month.

I'm thinking of getting therapy just to have someone to talk to about all the stress. The good thing (honest, I see it as a good thing) is that most of the stress is basically external to me -- my days are generally easy and pleasant, and everyone who's not me may be melting down, but all my stress is in the way of a contact low, as it were. Other than being in a sandwich-generation holding pattern (when will the next phase of my life begin? no one knows), things are pretty good. I'm making more money than I ever have, I love my work, I get lots of downtime to read and hang out with James and mom, and my health is better than it's been in years. So yeah, if the universe could just leave my loved ones in peace, that'd be great.

For anyone that missed it: Starfighter has been on hiatus so I could get Chapter 2 to the printers. Instead of the six extra pages I planned.. I went a little overboard with the smut like usual and made twelve. So, IN SHORT: the bad news was: twice as many pages took longer to get done. The good news is: the wait is over and now the print version is finished and filled with sweet extras. It's 69 pages of comic +12 pages of smut, and will also be sold for the same Chapter 1 price of $14.
