Очередной пиздец с домашним провайдером,
он внезапно заблокировал весь траффик по 53-му порту,
включая траффик ко своим собственным DNS-серверам,
думаю, что по ошибке.

Однако андроид-девайсы, и многие линуксы,
а наверное и винда с маками тоже, по дефолту
получают DNS через dns over tls, Бразилия страна
расслабленная, в общем до утра никто ничего
чинить точно не станет.

В итоге мне пришлось весь вечер курить маны со
смартфона и спешно чинить систему. В генту сие оказалось
весьма просто; записываю для памяти.

(а) надо откомпилировать emerge -av getdns с опцией stubby

(б) запустить его,
/etc/init.d/stubby start
ну и на будущее
rc-update add stubby

(в) убить у dhcpcd, dhclient, ну или что у вас там ходит,
возможность переписывать resolv.conf, причем
оперативно, пока они его не успели снова переписать:
echo "nameserver 127.0.0.1" > /etc/resolv.conf; chattr +i /etc/resolv.conf
последняя команда дает файлу аттрибут "immutable", он снимается через
chattr -i /etc/resolv.conf

В общем, сей stubby внезапно установился
из коробки и сам работает, большая редкость для
программ такого сорта; он запускает на 127.0.0.1
локальный DNS-сервак, который разбрасывает DNS-запросы
через https пачке публичных DNS-серверов, типа Гугла,
Cloudfare и всего такого.

Провайдеры тут время от времени начинают глушить
некоторые сервера, в основном пиратские трекеры,
но поскольку они наивные и цензурной практики
у них совершенно нет, то действуют они только
через блокировку DNS; раньше это лечилось через
echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" > /etc/resolv.conf
ну и в итоге они, видимо, решили этот метод
немного побороть.

Типа имитация Tangerine Dream синхронного периода,
но сильно лучше, чем все, что они сделали после 1984,
причем записано (в домашней студии, насколько я понимаю)
на порядок чище и яснее, чем TD писали, со всеми их сотнями
тысяч долларов, вбуханных в аппаратуру.

Я долго тыкался в биографию автора, пытаясь выяснить,
1985 это не мистификация ли, так и не понял. В принципе,
что сейчас подобной ретрофутуристической музыки пишут
очень много, с реверансами в сторону 1970-х и 1980-х,
лепят на альбом фальшивую датировку, и выкладывают на ютюб,
зарабатывая миллионы прослушиваний.

Вообще Ютюб разрушил централизованную систему музыкальной
критики и прессы, раньше люди шли читать про группы в
Питчфорк или Wire, и покупали альбом, а сейчас тыкают
в рекоммендации Ютюба. Это породило с десяток новых жанров,
свободных от кураторства музкритика, с изобретенной
(и часто целиком фальсифицированной) историей. Походу
появилась масса "групп", датированных на 30-40 лет
раньше, чем на самом деле, и зачастую сгенерированных
через AI, с имитацией всякого ретро; наиболее смешной
образчик вот, с ним-то все яснее ясного

Few people outside of a small fraternity of German music
specialists probably even remember the name G"unter
Schickert, and it's no exaggeration to call his 1979 album
"Uberfallig" one of the lost treasures of late '70s
Krautrock. For me, Schickert has remained an enigma for
close to thirty years, ever since I gave up trying to
decipher the dense, illegible scrawl of notes on the back
of the LP (a pointless exercise anyway: it's all in
German).

But he was certainly a unique talent, even within such a
wildly creative music scene. Schickert's style, at least
on this one album, employed multiple guitars to do (more
or less) what KLAUS SCHULZE and EDGAR FROESE were at the
same time doing with synthesizers and sequencers: building
layers of sometimes dreamy, sometimes tense ostinato
patterns over a subtle, shifting backbeat of driving
percussion. The rhythms are often provided by a heavy
application of echo to some unusual sound sources,
transforming a single splash of water or a labored gasp of
breath into a repetitive loop of hypnotic pulses.

The effect is especially striking on the two longer tracks
here, the aptly titled album opener "Puls", and the almost
12-minute long "Apricot Brandy". The former has the
cinematic momentum of a high-speed Hollywood chase; the
latter is a psychedelic rocker accelerating from a
semi-conscious dreamscape to a hyperkinetic rush of
overlapping guitars and voices.

Relief is provided by the ballad "In Der Zeit", sung in an
ominous half-whisper over an unadorned acoustic guitar,
and in the album's haunting finale "Wanderer", a brooding
piece of music perfectly matched to the empty autobahn
pictured on the back cover.

Altogether the album is somewhat reminiscent of (ex-NEU!)
guitarist MICHAEL ROTHER's early solo work, and in fact
was originally released on the same label (the always
reliable Sky Records). Schickert shared a similar approach
to pristine guitar minimalism, but with a darker, more
malevolent edge: he might have been the turbulent yin to
Rother's more angelic yang.

It's reassuring to find that Gunter Schickert hasn't been
completely forgotten. And, by a funny coincidence, a
translation of the album's title (Uberfallig = Overdue)
perfectly describes his status as a true Krautrock legend.
