The meat of it is simple-The Department of Veterans Affairs failed to provide adequate medical care for the numerous afflictions suffered by these men and women. So far the suit has claimed at least one casualty-Mr. Nicholson, DVA Secretary, resigned and headed for the hills, but is still on the supoena list.Mr. Bush, acting as a President, instructed US attorneys to argue Veterans were not entitled to mental health benefits which befuddled many of us. Even the DVA agrees that up to 80% of those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan will return with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and this bothers George. Bean counters are always disturbed when more money than necessary has to be spent on what they regard as trivial matters. Again, avidly pursue the war, but forsake those who pursue is the apparent rally cry of this administration.Mr. Bush delivered a rah-rah speech yesterday again declaring victory in Iraq, but failed to address adequate Veterans medical care. This nation, great as it is, began developing a forsaking reputation towards Vets during the Vietnam War and extended it though Desert Storm to now the current conflicts. He and his minions do not seem to understand not only the human suffering involved, but also the impact upon the families. As one who understands the words abandonment and betrayal by the government, a whole generation is now developing even more distrust of the government which equates even lower enlistment rates. What can one expect when GIs are treated like numbers and then discarded when their usefulness is expended.It is sad our nation has come to this, but signs were there all along-the tsunami, hurricane Katrina, etc. Mr. Bush hesitated, procrastinated and finally decided to help after thousands had suffered or lost their lives. Mark my words, it will eventually come to the point where attorneys will accompany prospective recruits to insure adequate clauses for medical treatment are part of enlistment contracts. This administration spends over a billion dollars monthly in Iraq, but cannot afford to assist a former combat veteran with an affliction costing only a small amount.George Bush should have been drafted, served in Vietnam and then returned home to negativity not only from many, but the government as well. Perhaps, then he would have learned respect not only for our Nation's Active Duty/Veterans, but also for basic human values. Instead he went AWOL for up to 18 months while in the National Guard after losing his flight status and encrusted himself in cynicism. We should all hang our heads in sorrow over the treatment of our Veterans particularly for those 150 Vets committing suicide weekly-the greater number of which are National Guard who served in the war and then were shuffled out before disability claims could be tendered. A close examination of his history indicates a parallel to George W. Bush Jr. and not in a flattering manner. Both had fathers who continually bailed them out from trouble and these sons took ready advantage of their fathers’ reputations to achieve unearned status.*McCain earned an extraordinary amount of demerits at the Naval Academy, but was allowed to graduate 5th from the bottom of his class.*He crashed an aircraft in Naval flight training which mandated expulsion, but McCain was allowed to complete the course.*McCain ran into power lines on the Iberian Peninsula while deployed to the Mediterranean causing a second crash without repercussion.*Oddly enough, he was made an Instructor Pilot upon return to Pensacola, Florida, and proceeded to lose another aircraft while flying to the Army-Navy football game. The Navy rewarded him by assigning to the carrier, USS Forrestal.*McCain lost his fourth jet on July 29, 1967, when a rocket slammed into his fully loaded jet killing 134 sailors. He escaped injury, according to some by immediately going below while others battled the flames. Oddly enough, McCain took it upon himself to simply leave the Forrestal without notifying his superiors to party in Tokyo. The Benevolent Navy took no action against him and transferred the erring pilot to the USS Oriskany. *He lost his fifth jet after being shot down over North Vietnam and captured on October 26, 1967.*According to an article written by him for the U.S. News and World Report, May 14, 1973, ...”After being periodically slapped around for “three or four days” by his captors who wanted military information from him, McCain called for an officer on his fourth day of captivity. He told the officer, “O.K., I’ll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital.” Not only was this a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the Code of Conduct, but can be viewed as collaboration with the enemy.A surgeon was flown in from Moscow and McCain accepted preferential medical treatment at a hospital near Gia Lam airport reserved for Vietnamese officers. No other POW received the same which again violated the UCMJ and Code of Conduct.*According to sources and McCain in his autobiography, specific military information was given such as the carrier he flew from, number of pilots lost, specific flight information and rescue units currently available. Apparently, he did this to gain medical attention.*Retired Army Colonel Earl Hopper states McCain told his captors "highly classified information, the most important of which was the package routes, which were routes used to bomb North Vietnam. He gave in detail the altitude they were flying, the direction, if they made a turn...he gave them what primary targets the United States was interested in." Hopper further contends this information allowed the North Vietnamese to adjust their air defenses and subsequently the US lost sixty percent more aircraft resulting in the curtailment of North Vietnam bombing. All this was due, Hopper states, because of the information McCain divulged.*McCain participated in propaganda films and radio broadcasts aimed at American troops. According to the Saigon UPI, June 4, 1969: “Reds say POW Songbird is Pilot Son of Admiral...Hanoi has aired a broadcast in which the pilot son of United States Commander in the Pacific Adm. John McCain purportedly admits to having bombed civilian targets in North Vietnam and praises medical treatment he has received since being taken prisoner.” He had earned the nickname “Songbird” from his captors.*He talks often of torture, but did not transfer to the Hanoi Hilton until December, 1969. According to the Phoenix New Times, March 25, 1999, Two former POWs, Air Force Colonels Ted Guy and George “Swede” Larson, said in a feature article they could not guarantee that McCain was not physically harmed, (but) they doubted it. Both Guy and Larson were senior ranking officers (SROs) in McCain’s POW camp at a time he claims he was in solitary confinement and being tortured.*Larson told the New Times, “Between the two of us, it’s our belief, and to the best of our knowledge, that no prisoner was beaten or harmed physically in that camp (known as ‘The Plantation’). My only contention the the McCain deal is that while he was at the Plantation, to the best of my knowledge and Ted’s knowledge, he was not physically abused in any way. No one was in that camp. It was the camp that people were released from.”*McCain bases his hero myth on the contention he refused to be released unless everyone was. Sources state this was not a big deal since McCain was ordered by Senior Officers to state this. Secondly, former Rep. Bob Dornan (CA) states transcripts exist from former POWs reacting to McCain’s collaboration negatively. According to Dornan, McCain has always been afraid these transcripts would turn up particularly during a presidential campaign. Dornan offered another reason why McCain refused release by the North Vietnamese. He said those released first were collaborators, which McCain was one, and this would have ended not only his military career and hurt the Navy, but would impact his father also.*McCain has actively opposed the efforts of MIA/POW activists and according to witnesses, physically attacked at least one. He simply does not consider Veterans a priority much less MIA/POWs, but brags of his support.*He returned from captivity to his wife, Carol, who was in a wheel chair from a car accident. He desired a coveted Admiral slot and the Navy assisted by reinstating him to flight duty in lieu of his disabilities. McCain assumed an Executive Officer, Replacement Air Group 174 position, which trained pilots and crews for deployment. While Executive Officer and later Commander, McCain authorized flights allowing him to mingle with subordinates and engage in extra-marital affairs again violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice regarding adultery and fraternizing with subordinates. The Navy, however, continued the tradition of excusing McCain from penalties and he got away with it.*Robert Timbert, author of The Nightingale’s Song, wrote: “Off duty, usually on routine cross-country flights to Yuma and El Centro, John (McCain) started carousing and running around with women. To make matters worse, some of the women with whom he was linked by rumor were subordinates...At the time the rumors were so widespread that, true or not, they became part of McCain’s persona, impossible not to take note of.” The Navy overlooked his behavior and excused him from any discipline.It seems apparent John McCain has contrived his own history and should be viewed as lacking sufficient character to hold the office of the Presidency or the Senate. The election, however, though historic in the election of Barack Obama, again revealed the divisive nature of American society.Americans prefer to think the best while excluding any thought of the worst in anyone. This election, however, displayed the Republican Party at its worst. John McCain did a complete turnaround from his year 2000 position and with his snarling partner, Sarah Palin, became a "its only business" campaigner. Their campaign seemed desperate, disjointed and unfortunately, McCarthyistic in both tone and action. Attacking personalities became more important than debating ideas further illustrating the limited intellectual capacities of both candidates. Sarah Palin's rhetoric empowered cries of "traitor," "Arab," "Communist," and other derisive terms towards Obama coupled with her denial to be the cause of it.Palin cannot dispute a singular fact released by the Secret Service: her utterances caused a sharp increase in death threats towards President Elect Obama. This, alone, should cause the Republican Party to stop and reflect upon the dirty tactics utilized and to what end. Governor Palin needs to reassess her position in this election and drop the offended position towards the media. She was responsible for the hatred rise and should address that immediately. Overall, the greatest responsibility is held by John McCain who displayed his true moral character not only foisting Sarah Palin upon the American Public, but disdaining any opposition towards lack of credentials, ethical problems and importantly, her utterances. Our Guv thinks only of spending more money.....: the Federal Dept of Justice is reviewing this law which mean thousands if not more will be spent by our Attorney General's office. The Guv has also notified us AZ will be filing a lawsuit over Obamacare which will cost thousands, if not more, in legal costs. Undoubtedly, this immigration law will result in a multitude of lawsuits resulting in even more budgetary expenditures. In fact the first was filed today, April 29, and one hears the echoing sound of of a cash register depriving more children, among other issues, of a sound education. Our priorities are misplaced and where is the common sense to restore it. There are simpler solutions if one must: Require everyone to file a certified birth certificate with their AZ county of residence. AZ born would integrated by the Department of Health and wouldn't cost a thing....Others could retrieve from their state of residence....in turn, this information could be turned over to Homeland security after matching with other docs such as drivers licenses, etc., making INS jobs easier. Makes sense... Better yet.....tell the Nazi sympathizers in the Arizona Legislature this ideology didn't work the first time and cost millions their lives. Sen. Russell Pearce, by the way, is closely connected with the Arizona version of the National Socialists (Nazis) and has spent a great amount of time being photographed with J.T. Ready, a state National Socialist leader. Both are good friends and co-sympathizers of Joe Arpaio, Maricopa County Sheriff who has cost that county $60 million in lawsuit losses the past few years not including Maricopa legal expenditures. Common sense doesn't exist in our legislature who fiddle right wing paranoia while our overworked law enforcement officers endure another layer of unneeded responsibility. There was a reason most police chiefs disavowed this bill. Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik labeled the "stupid" and further stated his officers will be directed not to follow it. Ironically, one of the first lawsuits filed was by a Tucson Police Department officer. The Guv is afraid of growing Latino voting power. She culled the voting rolls of nearly 200,000 predominantly Latino voters prior to the last major election as Secretary of State which caused some controversy. Her motives, to say the least, are supect and this current action will create a political and economic backlash. Looking this over brings a simple question of why you weren't drafted after receiving a 1-A ruling on July 7, 1968 and holding it for three months. 1968 was the height of the Vietnam War and draftees and enlistees were being accepted regardless except for the most afflicted. Of course, you immediately showed up for another physical on September 9, 1968, with a paid M.D. letter attesting to your heel bone spurs with a bit of affluenza thrown in undoubtedly. Now the truth came out of a deal your father made with a podiatrist, whom happened to rent from him, for a bone spur letter. If your name had been Smith, Washington or Gonzales, you would been on a flight to basic training, but not Trump. Still, it doesn't answer the question of why you weren't inducted during the three months of 1-A eligibility. You had already decided the military was not for you probably due to your castaway military academy days, absent parents, a lot of cowardice due to Vietnam fear, being a germaphobe, no desire to be around minorities and perhaps a little of Leona Helmsley attitude whereas laws are meant for the little people. The Donald stated repeatedly in interviews in the past these bone spurs were TEMPORARY and NOT PAINFUL. You cloud the issue with misstatements and historical ignorance of your own draft history. You resort to the old "look up my records" reply to any draft queries or ignore altogether. The real reasons, in my opinion, were twofold. First, you were afraid of the real military, being treated like everyone else and possible Vietnam service. This type of fear carries to the present day indicative by your anger over criticisms, immediate shoot from the hip caustic responses, bullying, and proclivity towards tough-guy statements exhorting others to attack those who protest against you or are the wrong ethnicity or religion. All of this while you are safely protected by security while never admitting the exclusion of minorities or violence was wrong. Secondly, Donald, you are simply not a team player. Fortunate Son upbringing and being rejected by your parents in favor of a military academy transformed you into a loner needing constant reinforcement of status, admiration, and self-worth. You never developed adequate social skills relying instead on names on glimmering towers, manufactured adoring fans, accouterments of wealth, constant media appearances, etc., which attest to your singular narcissistic status. This malignant narcissism precludes any team concept and subsequently being deemed a leader. Your inner fear culminates in disparaging the handicapped, denying health insurance to your own niece, abject coldness, lack of empathy and much more. The campaign trail has shown you to utter caustic speech, insecurity, self-absorption, bullying, racism, misogyny, sexism, etc., which are not signs of a leader, but a plea for help. Your incessant desire to be deemed a "tough guy" is not accorded a great deal of credibility since you're not. Donnie, you surround yourself with convicted felons, extremists and other miscreants which denies rather than create a tough aura. Rather, it gives an image of someone who doesn't respect authority or the laws behind it-perhaps another adolescent creation. Your childlike protest of "I didn't know" or the "evil media" after staff or delegate less than saintly status is revealed only heightens this disregard and contradicts your self-proclaimed "smart guy" declaration. Here are a few just to remind you: a. Joseph Weichselbaum, personal helicopter pilot. Twice convicted felon for drug distribution, tax evasion, grand theft auto and embezzlement.You wrote a letter to the court in November, 1987, prior to drug trafficking and tax evasion sentencing vouching for him being "conscientious, forthright and diligent...a credit to the community." b. John Staluppi-friend and Colombo crime family member. You worked closely with him to create the Donald Trump Signature Series Cadillac debuted in 1988. c. Katrina Pierson, national spokesperson-convicted of shoplifting in 1997 and accepted state unemployment insurance benefits, $11,000 (11 months worth) in 2012 while working on the Ted Cruz campaign. Texas law requires a recipient to be looking for full time paid employment, but Pierson apparently discarded that. She was working for Cruz, traveling the nation shilling the "evil" UN Agenda 21 theory and simultaneously planning a political career running against Rep. Pete Sessions. Obvious questions are was she paid by the Cruz campaign for this and where did the traveling money come from? Oh, she lost the election by 70%. She is notorious for time traveling, that is, blaming Obama for the 2004 death of Capt. Khan, son of a Gold Star Family who you, Donnie, disparaged for being Muslim. You didn't rebuke her for making this statement, Katrina is still employed somewhat and you are being blamed. d. Mike and Irene Millin, joined with Trump for the Trump Institute which Trump University was umbrella organization and other "educational oferings." Milins had a troubled past with their National Grants Conference which was investigated by thirty-two state attorney-general for fraud, scamming and deceptive business practices. The television program Life Styles of the Rich and Famous sued both for failure to fulfill contractual requirements. Their National Grants Conference finally went bankrupt in 2006 owing $2.1 million to creditors following intense attorney-generals' pressure. This didn't bother Trump vetting as he deemed them an asset to his Institute and according to a 2006 report, the National Grants Conference and Trump Institute shared at least three of the same owners and a joint Boca Raton, Florida, address. e. Trump and the Millins together focused on Trump University, but the endeavor was receiving criticism for not being an accredited university or college. Trump directed a name change to Trump Entrepreneur Initiative following these claims, but actions were too little, too late. The Initiative closed down in 2006, but faced continuing legal scrutiny by the New York Attorney General who began an intensive investigation in 2011 for false claims and illegal business practices. This eventually led into a major 2013 class action lawsuit settled later for $25 million. However, a small group of litigants didn't accept the meager settlement and are pursuing further court action. f. Felix Sater-convicted felon with alleged organized crime connection worked closely with Trump on several deals. He had been convicted of money laundering in 1990s; later went to prison for plunging wine glass stem into a commodity broker's face; and avoided prison a second time for massive $40 million stock fraud and swindle, but was charged as an unindicted co-conspirator in 2000. and later found guilty of stock fraud in 2009. Trump partnered with the Sater Bayrock Group, a small development firm, with headquarters in Trump Tower in 2005. He worked with Donald/Ivanka on the legally troubled Soho project; Trump International Hotel and Tower, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, which failed with $100,000 in customer deposits lost; the canceled Trump Las Olas, Florida, project; and unsuccessful ventures in Colorado and Arizona. Sater now is a person of considerable interest to the Mueller investigation. g. Your Cabinet-new scandals seem to pop up daily. Misuse of government funds, travel, policy revisions detrimental to the public, etc., all seem to indicate your lack of concern, inability to supervise or a reflection of yourself. There are many more examples one could cite, but the most tragic is your inhumane action towards Puerto Rico and separating children from families along the border. You refused to renew the Jones Act waiver to allow all ships to offload needed supplies to the island. The Jones Act prohibits foreign ships from docking unless waived and you simply created a more disastrous situation sing to renew the waiver. Your excuse of aid damaging your budget was abominable and indicative of a challenged mind. Again, you lack human compassion, empathy and heartlessness only exacerbated an already tragic situation resulting in 4666 deaths to date. Obviously, there is a racist tint here exhibited in your campaign and presidency, but now even against US citizens in Puerto Rico. I won't dwell on the child separation issue except to mention your own failure as a parent is at center-your children and son-in-law under criminal investigation. All reflecting your belief to be above the law and skirt, if not break, when necessary. The outrage wave must have stunned you and condemnations for seeking funds for your border wall to free children was sickening. It was Trump policy created months ago, not law, though you attempted to blame Democrats for the action. Again, vacating any notion of taking responsibility for your actions. Painting children as MS-13 members was reminiscent of earlier racist comments made during the campaign. Well, Donnie, you are in a fix!! My recommendation is to resign and take Pence with you since he is religiously obsessed. Both of you need psychiatric treatment and a long trip to Moscow for future residence! Full Article

If you see him, tell him to get back home so he can start writing again!Meanwhile….I am soooo glad summer has finally drawn to a close. It has been one we will not soon forget.So, since Craig has been a bit busy, I decided to put my thought down on a subject that was brought to my attention a while back. I shall call it “Things That Annoy Instructors”.#1. Coming in late to class and missing the very important warm up – and setting up weights can be a bit distracting. I must say though that it doesn’t always bother me. I just usually say hello to the person and move on!#2. Leaving before the very important cool down. I know that some people have to leave because of jobs, etc., but the cool down is extremely important. Also distracting can be when weights are being put away as we instructing. However, on Fridays, there is a class right after ours so I will sometimes start putting our weights away while Craig teaches so we are not late getting out.#3. This is what annoys me the most. When a new person comes to class and we try to go over proper form, and they are not paying the least bit of attention. Usually they are chatting with a friend or adjusting the weights on their bar instead of listening. Personally, I find this to be pretty rude. It makes me feel like I’m wasting my time, yet it is for their own benefit that we do this!#4. When only 2 people show up to class!Well – I think that is it. But in all fairness, I will try to put down what I think is annoying to participants. #1. When the instructor is late.#2. When the instructor is too ‘chatty’.#3. When they have a sub.#4. When we foul up the choreography.#5. When I keep talking about my shoe fetish.#6. When Craig and I act like Lucy and Ricky.Did I miss anything? Hope not!BTW – Craig will get the 63 review out soon. Worked correctly, triceps develop quickly and add arm definition that looks great on men and ladies alike. So while most tracks are designed to give you practical strength for everyday life, the results you get with triceps can actually be more of more emotional benefit. Especially when someone says "Hey, you look like you've been working out lately."It was almost exactly four years ago when release 47 hit the streets. For those involved with Pump back then, the 40's series was especially exciting - the program had clearly evolved as a worldwide group fitness regime, and a loyal following numbering in the millions begun to take hold. Maybe it's our nostalgia for those those times, or just the fact that we've played those tracks so doggone much that we always manage to throw a few into our weekly mix. Last week it was 47's Tu Es Fontu, better known to our class as "The Frenchie Song" (no disrespect intended to our French counterparts, we might add).Prior to release 47, track #5 was a fairly predictable set of presses, extensions, kickbacks, and maybe a few tricep pushups thrown in for good measure. When "Tu Es Fontu" hit the floor, however, we saw presses as a relief for maybe the first time ever - for those who might remember, head choreographer Mike McSweeney said it best: "Enjoy them now, because there aren't that many." He was right. After an all-too-short set of singles, there's an eternity of thirty eight extensions and an active recovery (presses) before the kickbacks begin. If you ever wondered where your triceps are, you'll know after this routine. It gets the job done, and that's why it was a consistent pick for our Wicked Wednesday series.Tu m'a promis. Sick of waiting on machines? Tired of setting up in the back row of full classes? Well, this is the week you've been waiting for... Pick a club, just about any club right now, and chances are you'll find the tranquility you so desperately seek.But not for long... Here in the States, at least, January is by far the biggest sales month for fitness clubs. Yep, come January 2nd (gosh, maybe even January 1st) practically every club from sea to shining sea will be packed with New Year's Resolutioners - those fine folks who promise themselves that this year it'll all be different. Yes, for two, maybe even three whole weeks they'll plug away. But then the reality of life sets in, and by February it's back to the same ol', same ol' - oh, there'll be a few new faces, but mostly the same ones as before.Will you be different? We hope so. If you're a newbie, remember this: Anything you do regularly for a month becomes part of your life. Healthy living - and that includes exercise - is for everyone. We know, because we both struggled with obesity for years. It's the fear of our past that motivates our butts right back into that gym week after week. So take heart... if a couple of previously-overweight geeks like us can get it done, surely you can! Full Article
