The fluid dynamic bearing system has at, least one stationary part, and at least one rotating part that is supported rotatable about a rotational axis with respect to the stationary part. A bearing gap filled with bearing fluid is formed between mutually opposing surfaces of the stationary and of the rotating part. The bearing system includes at least one fluid dynamic radial bearing and at least one fluid dynamic axial bearing that are disposed along sections of the bearing gap. In one aspect of the invention, an annular sealing gap for sealing open ends of the bearing gap has one end connected to the bearing gap and one end connected to an annular reservoir, the outside radius of the reservoir measured from the rotational axis being larger than the outside radius of the sealing gap.

Dynamically-lubricated bearings and methods of dynamically lubricating bearings, including bearings used in gas turbine engines. Such a bearing includes an inner race having an inner race groove between a pair of inner race cage lands, an outer race having an outer race groove between a pair of outer race cage lands and opposes the inner race groove, rolling elements disposed between the inner and outer races and in rolling contact with the inner and outer race grooves, and a cage disposed between the inner and outer races to maintain separation between the rolling elements. A lubricant is introduced into a cavity between the inner and outer races, and rotation of the inner race relative to the outer race causes the lubricant to exit the cavity through recessed surface features in at least one of the inner and outer race cage lands.

A rolling bearing device which may include: a pair of raceway rings including an inner ring and an outer ring, a plurality of rolling elements interposed between respective raceway surfaces of the inner and outer rings, a retainer to retain the rolling elements; an oil supply and discharge mechanism to supply a lubricant oil, which concurrently serves as a bearing cooling medium, into the inside of the bearing device and to discharge the lubricant oil to the outside of the bearing device; and a ring shaped shake-off collar portion disposed in the vicinity of an end portion of an outer diametric surface of the inner ring so as to protrude radially outwardly, wherein the lubricant oil supplied from the oil supply and discharge mechanism and provided for lubrication within the bearing device is, after being received by the shake-off collar portion, shaken-off in a direction radially outwardly by the effect of a centrifugal force developed as a result of an inner ring rotation.

The present subject matter is directed to a bearing assembly for a wind turbine. The bearing assembly includes an outer race, an inner race rotatable relative to the outer race, a plurality of rolling elements positioned between the inner and outer races, and a cage assembly configured to maintain separation between neighboring rolling elements. The cage assembly includes a plurality of cage elements and a plurality of spacers. Each of the cage elements are separated by at least one of the spacers. Further, each of the cage elements extends around at least a portion of the plurality of rolling elements. Moreover, at least one of the spacers contact one or more of the rolling elements.

At least the surfaces of rolling elements of a rolling bearing are each randomly formed with an innumerable number of microconcave-like pits. The surface roughness parameter Ryni of the surfaces provided with the pits is in a range of 0.4 to 1.0 μm, and the Sk value is −1.6 or below.

A roller bearing cage has a cage element adapted for retaining the generally cylindrically shaped rollers and allowing the rollers to be rollable therein. The cage element includes a main portion having a plurality of pockets, an outward flange portion extending outwardly in a radial direction and an inward flange portion extending outwardly in the radial direction. There are provided a hydrodynamic bearing assembly and a motor including the same. The hydrodynamic bearing assembly includes a sleeve rotatably supporting a shaft and including a first circulation hole formed therein, the first circulation hole penetrating between an inner peripheral surface thereof and an outer peripheral surface thereof; a sleeve housing into which the sleeve is inserted; and a second circulation hole formed between the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve and an inner peripheral surface of the sleeve housing to be in communication with the first circulation hole, wherein an upper portion of the second circulation hole has a larger diameter than a lower portion thereof in an axial direction.

A bearing support plate for use in a generator has a radially enlarged flange with a first cylindrical portion extending from the flange in one direction which will provide a bearing support for an outer race of a ball bearing, and a radially inner cylindrical portion extending in an opposed direction that will be away from the ball bearing relative to the flange. The flange is generally cylindrical but has a truncated portion over a circumferential extent. The first cylindrical portion is formed with radially enlarged portions with intermediate radially thinner portions. The flange includes bolt holes circumferentially aligned with the radially thinner portions.

A synthetic resin-made thrust sliding bearing 1 includes a synthetic resin-made upper casing 2 which is fixed to a vehicle body side via a mounting member; a synthetic resin-made lower casing 3 which is superposed on the upper casing 2 so as to be rotatable about an axis O in a circumferential direction R relative to the upper casing 2; and a synthetic resin-made sliding bearing piece 5 disposed in a space 4 between the upper casing 2 and the lower casing 3.

A bearing device for a wheel prevents backlash in a circumferential direction and has excellent workability for connecting a hub wheel and an outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint. The bearing device includes a recess-projection fitting structure in which the hub wheel and a shaft section, which is fitted in a hole of the hub wheel of the outer joint member of the constant velocity universal joint, are unitized together. In the recess-projection fitting structure, entire fitting regions among projections on the outer surface of the shaft section of the outer joint member and recesses, which fit on the projections, are brought into intimate contact with each other.

There is provided a resin cage of a tapered roller bearing. The cage includes a small diameter annular portion, a large diameter annular portion, and a plurality of bar portions arranged at intervals in a circumferential direction to connect the annular portions. The bar portion has a pair of circumferentially-directed side surfaces, each having a roller guide surface, and an inner-side inner peripheral surface, a circumferential width of which is smaller on a side of the large diameter annular portion than on a side of the small diameter annular portion, and has a roller retaining region in which a radially outer side pocket width and a radially inner side pocket width between the opposed circumferentially-directed side surfaces of the adjacent bar portions are smaller than a diameter of the roller.

A bearing cage assembly (100) comprises a plurality of discrete bridge elements (206) disposed between adjacent rolling elements (112) and coupled between first and second axially spaced cage support wire rings (102, 104) which are appropriately tensioned. Spacers (110) are disposed between adjacent bridge elements and engage the bridge elements in a piloted engagement. The bridge elements maintain a separation between rolling elements, retain the rolling elements within the bearing assembly, and function as a lubrication reservoir for grease lubricated bearings. Profiled surfaces on the bridge elements position the bearing cage assembly on at least one axial end of the rolling elements.

A cage, which is annular, and is used in a thrust roller bearing, includes a plurality of cage segments arranged in a circumferential direction. Each of the cage segments includes an arc portion; and a bar portion that extends radially inward from the arc portion and that maintains a circumferential interval between rollers adjacent to each other. A groove portion extending along an axial direction is formed at each of end faces of the arc portions, the end faces facing each other in the circumferential direction. In the cage, elastic bodies are inserted into the groove portions and urge the arc portions in the circumferential direction, each of the elastic bodies is disposed between the end faces facing each other, and the cage segments are connected to each other by the elastic bodies.

An improved system and method are disclosed for improving functionality in software applications. In one example, the method includes a mobile device having a network interface, a processor, and a memory configured to store a plurality of instructions. The instructions include instructions for a superblock application having instructions for a function block included therein. The function block is configured to provide functions that are accessible to the superblock application via an application programming interface (API). The functions are provided within the superblock application itself and are accessible within the superblock application without switching context to another application on the mobile device.

Administering message acknowledgements in a parallel computer that includes compute nodes, with each compute node including a processor and a messaging accelerator, includes: storing in a list, by a processor of a compute node, a message descriptor describing a message and an acknowledgement request descriptor describing a request for an acknowledgement of receipt of the message; processing, by a messaging accelerator of the compute node, the list, including transmitting, to a target compute node, the message described by the message descriptor and transmitting, to the target compute node, the request described by the acknowledgement request descriptor; receiving, by the messaging accelerator from the target compute node, an acknowledgement of receipt of the message, including notifying the processor of receipt of the acknowledgement; and removing, by the processor from the list, the message descriptor and the acknowledgment request descriptor.

The present disclosure provides methods and apparatus for constructing a secure and flexible operating system. The presently disclosed system executes different user applications in different operating systems on different virtual machines. Each user application communicates with other processes via the hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP). In particular, each user application's user interface is implemented in a web browser that is running in its own operating system on its own virtual machine, and each user application interacts with the user interface by exchanging HTTP messages between the virtual machines.

A component instance manager of a database system generates an instance of the application function. The component instance manager then generates an executor for the application function, and requests an instance of a component class of the application function from a package manager of the database system. A void pointer associated with the instance of the component class and a wrapper function address associated with the application function are accessed by the component instance manager, where the void pointer and wrapper function address comprise runtime parameters of the application function. The application function is thereafter executed by the executor according to the runtime parameters.

An apparatus and a method support a selective suspend mode in a driver for any one of at least two devices constituting a composite network device. When a device of the driver requests suspend mode transition, a Physical Device Object (PDO) constituting a driver of the composite network device is identified by a PDO check part. A suspend mode transition request information of the device is sent to an operating system through the PDO. When the operating system allows the suspend mode transition, a control part sends suspend mode transition indication information to the device through the PDO.

Process for the preparation of vinyl aromatic (co) polymers grafted on an elastomer in a controlled manner, comprising: dissolving an elastomer functionalized with bromoalkanes and nitroxy radicals, soluble in non-polar solvents, in a liquid phase consisting of a mixture of vinyl aromatic monomer(s)/polymerization solvent; feeding at least one radical initiator to the mixture, containing the functionalized elastomer in solution, and polymerizing the mixture thus obtained at a temperature higher than or equal to 1200 C; recovering the vinyl aromatic (co) polymer obtained after devolatization; and recycling the solvent/monomer(s) mixture, coming from the devolatization, to step (a).

The present invention relates to a preparation method of a superabsorbent polymer, and specifically to a method of preparing a superabsorbent polymer including the steps of: preparing a hydrous gel phase polymer by thermal polymerizing or photo-polymerizing a monomer composition including a water-soluble ethylene-based unsaturated monomer and a polymerization initiator; drying the hydrous gel phase polymer; milling the dried polymer; classifying the milled hydrous gel phase polymer into two or more grades by particle size; adding a surface cross-linking agent to each hydrous gel phase polymer classified into two or more grades; and carrying out a surface cross-linking reaction of the hydrous gel phase polymer to which the surface cross-linking agent is added.

A process for producing water-absorbing polymer particles by polymerizing droplets of a monomer solution in a surrounding gas phase in a reaction chamber, wherein the monomer solution is metered into the reaction chamber via at least one bore, and the diameter is from 210 to 290 μm per bore and the metering rate is from 0.9 to 5 kg/h per bore.

Provided are a supported metallocene catalyst, a method for preparing the same and a method for preparing polyolefin using the same. The supported metallocene catalyst prepared by incorporating a metallocene compound having a ligand substituted with alkoxide or aryloxide into a conventional supported metallocene catalyst and incorporating a borate compound as a second co-catalyst exhibits considerably superior catalyst activity and easily controls molecular weight distribution, as compared to the conventional metallocene-supported catalyst.

Provided are a solid catalyst for propylene polymerization and a method for preparing the same, specifically a solid catalyst for propylene polymerization which does not contain any environmentally harmful material and can produce a polypropylene having excellent stereoregularity with a high production yield, and a method for preparing the catalyst.

In a process for producing polyethylene having a molecular weight of at least 3×105 g/mol as determined by ASTM 4020, ethylene is contacted under polymerization conditions with a slurry of a catalyst composition in at least one hydrocarbon. The catalyst composition comprises a Group 4 metal complex of a phenolate ether ligand and the slurry includes from about 5 to less than 40 ppm per liter of a compound effective to increase the conductivity of said at least one hydrocarbon.

The invention relates to free-radical polymerization and free-radical cross-linking and more particularly provides a process of free-radical polymerization or cross-linking wherein at least one polymerizable monomer or at least one compound to be cross-linked is contacted in the presence of at least one selected organic peroxides, characterized in that the organic peroxide is prepared continuously by an ex situ process with the aid of a closed plate exchanger. In the process according to the invention, it's possible to introduce the above selected organic peroxide continuously during the polymerization or cross-linking reaction.

The present application relates to novel monomers comprising polycarbosiloxane monomers useful in certain specific embodiments in the manufacture of devices. More particularly, the present application relates to certain ethylenically unsaturated free radical polymerizable monomers comprising polycarbosiloxane monomers. Even more particularly, the present application pertains to monomers comprising polycarbosiloxane monomers which further comprise at least two ethylenically unsaturated free radical polymerizable groups.

Monomer (a): a monomer having a C1-6 polyfluoroalkyl group, monomer (b): vinylidene chloride, monomer (c): a monomer, the homopolymer of which has a glass transition temperature of at least 20° C., monomer (d): a monomer having a crosslinkable functional group, film-forming assistant (x): a specific amide solvent, and film-forming assistant (y): a specific glycol solvent.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a diene elastomer. The invention especially applies to the production of a polybutadiene with a high level of cis-1,4 linkages that has at the same time a Mooney viscosity ML (1+4) greater than or equal to 40, a polydispersity index less than 2.1 and a reduced cold flow and of a polyisoprene. The process according to the invention comprises a reaction of a catalyst system with at least one conjugated diene monomer, this catalyst system being based on at least: one conjugated diene;one organic phosphoric acid salt of one or more rare-earth metals, said salt being in suspension and in at least one saturated and aliphatic or alicyclic, and inert hydrocarbon-based solvent;one alkylating agent composed of an alkyl aluminum for formula AlR3 or HAlR2 anda halogen donor belonging to the family of alkylaluminium halides, with the exclusion of alkylaluminium sesquihalides. This process comprises a separate bringing together of the monomer(s) to be polymerized with at least one alkylaluminium compound of formula AlR3 or HAlR2 which is identical or not to the alkylating agent of said catalyst system, said amount being chosen as a function of the characteristics of the polymerization medium and/or the polymerization conditions and/or said elastomer to be obtained.

A true tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) copolymer of the fine powder type is provided, wherein the copolymer contains polymerized comonomer units of at least one comonomer other than TFE in concentrations of at least or exceeding 1.0 weight percent, and which can exceed 5.0 weight percent, wherein the copolymer is expandable, that is, the copolymer may be expanded to produce strong, useful, expanded TFE copolymeric articles having a microstructure of nodes interconnected by fibrils. Articles made from the expandable copolymer may include tapes, membranes, films, fibers, and are suitable in a variety of end applications, including medical devices.

A method for producing a copolymer includes reacting a first monomer with a second monomer using a Pd-based catalyst, wherein the first monomer is a first hetero cyclic compound which includes a first hetero atom selected from S, N, and O, the first hetero cyclic compound in which a carbon atom adjacent to the first hetero atom is coupled with at least one hydrogen atom, and the second monomer is a second hetero cyclic compound which includes a second hetero atom selected from S, N, and O, the second hetero cyclic compound in which the second hetero atom is coupled with a carbon atom in which a halogen group selected from Br, Cl, and I is substituted.

The invention relates to a method for preparation of platinum siloxane compounds containing at least one CO ligand molecule (Pt carbonyl siloxanes). The method comprises reacting gaseous carbon monoxide (CO) with a platinum siloxane compound, preferably a platinum vinyl-cyclosiloxane compound, in solution with an organic solvent. The method is straightforward and applicable to industrial scale. With this method, specific isomers of platinum carbonyl vinylcyclosiloxanes are prepared, in which the two η-2-ethenyl groups coordinated to the Pt atom are bonded in trans-configuration relative to the cyclosiloxane backbone. The Pt compounds obtained by the method are used as catalysts for hydrosilylation and for crosslinking and curing of siloxanes and silanes.

A vehicle barrier system comprises a housing, substantially vertical members, a barrier member, and an actuation assembly. The barrier member is coupled with the substantially vertical members. The barrier member is configured to stop a moving vehicle when the substantially vertical members are in a raised position relative to the housing. The actuation assembly is operable to selectively raise and lower the substantially vertical members relative to the housing to selectively deploy and retract the barrier member relative to the housing. The actuation assembly comprises a powered rotary actuator mounted to the barrier member. The actuation assembly is operable to convert rotary motion from the rotary actuator into linear movement of the barrier member. A counterweight provides opposing mass and vertical motion relative to the barrier member.

A road safety barrier having a plurality of ropes supported by posts rigidly mounted on or in the ground is described. Each rope is held in tension against the posts and supported in a notch or groove in a side of the posts. The ropes are released from a post and the post is not pulled from the ground when a vertical force is exerted on the rope. The ropes when weaved are tensioned against the posts and this gives use to a combined frictional resistance to displacement of the ropes relative to each post along the length of the safety barrier. The structure of at least some of the posts and/or their mounting with respect to the ground defines a minimum bending yield strength in a direction along the length of the barrier. This minimum bending yield strength is greater than the bending moment resulting from the combined frictional resistance forces acting on the post.

A road marker and related light based warning device are described. The road marker or device includes a thermal sensor that triggers the illumination of at least one light-emitting diode at a predetermined temperature. The temperature may be associated with ice formation. The light-emitting diode(s) may flash to alert motorists to hazardous road conditions. The road marker or device utilize simple components to increase reliability, particularly when the device is subjected to high heat such as when the device is mounted into hot tar seal. The device further includes a switching element that prevents rapid on/off cycling.

A vehicle barrier fence for arresting an impacting vehicle of substantial mass within a selected distance of the fence. The fence having, in part: a retaining structure, at least one cable having a first end comprising a cable terminator, a post having an orifice defined there through sized to receive the cable terminator into the post, and a cable retainer for retaining the cable terminator within the post.

A mobile thermoplastic applicator comprises a kettle, a main gas burner, a heat exchanger plenum, and a screed die box. The kettle has walls which define an interior space for melting thermoplastic. The main gas burner is situated beneath the kettle, and is configured to heat the kettle. The heat exchanger plenum is situated inside the thermoplastic kettle and is configured to subdivide the interior space and circulate heated air from the main gas burner. The screed die box is configured to receive molten thermoplastic from the kettle and deposit that molten thermoplastic on a surface.

A track system may include a plurality of connected slat members that may form rollable tracks. The rollable tracks may be used in moving vehicles across sensitive ground. The rollable track may be deployed using various methods and/or apparatus such as, e.g., deployment apparatus including one or more spool portions for rolling and unrolling the rollable tracks.
